Scooter Rebels

Is here to support the Scooter Community in general but the GY6 scooter riders specifically. A few years ago when the Chinese invasion of cheap drop shipped scooters hit the U.S.A. There was no support for the people that bought these scooters. Today things have changed, more and more brick and mortar stores are selling these scooters and people are finding out that when properly prepped, these scooters can provide a reliable fun way to get around, the secret is having a community that helps you with your problems and a place to buy parts for them.

This is where you can learn a lot about your scooter

One thing about the scooter community, a lot of people have some very good advice as to how to keep your scooter on the road. Join the forum and get to know the extended scooter family, you will be glad you did.

This site is here Primarily to support the forum at this time. In the future it will be posting reviews on scooter, and a bit on the history of scooters in America, covering the scooters made by Cushman and Mustang, as well as articles regarding the Whizzer scooters.

Since the scooters imported from China are the fastest growing scooter trend in the U.S.A. Reviews of those scooters will be another focus on this site.

Check back often to see what has gone on.

Lets Consider This

With all the look alike scooters we see from china!

Companies have been hard to keep track of. Schwinn for example, once the name brand bicycle that was made in America was having hard times and the name was bought by another company and now all the products you see produced with the brand name labeled on them are indeed not made in America, or even having the profits sent to a company owned by an American interest.

Another company that was once known for being American made is the name Sunbeam. This at one time was one of the most recognized small appliance makers known . A company with the same name, owned by a parent company called Routes Group, an English company that had a car manufacturing company called Sunbeam. Most well known to me for the Sunbeam Alpine and Tiger, because I owned a couple of the Alpines when I was young. The last I knew of Routes Group was that in the mid 1960's Chrysler acquired the company, then it faded into the sunset, I presumed it went out of business. Today you can find a web page for a company calling itself Sunbeam of America, http://www.sunbeamamerica.com, This page shows a line of scooters being sold as Sunbeam Scooters, starting with a pair of 49cc retro scooters, a 150cc retro, and a pair of 150cc more modern styled scooters, topping the line off with a pair of 250cc water cooled scooters . They also carry a few motorcycles. I have not ridden any of these, I suspect they will be very similar to the rest of the scooters coming out of China, hopefully they are well assembled and attention to fit and finish is appropriate for a company who was once proud of its automobiles and motorcycles as well as a scooter production in England.
